British Columbia school districts and independent schools are looking to hire speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and speech therapists for five part-time and full-time positions.

The demand is greatest in the Metro Vancouver region where school districts in North Vancouver and Surrey are seeking full-time speech-language pathologists (SLP) to start immediately.
In other parts of the province, school districts in Vernon, Boundary, Mission and Williams Lake are hiring to fill speech-language pathologist positions.

Speech-language pathologists in BC school districts typically have a master's degree and are certified by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC). Learn more about becoming a speech pathologist. They work with a multidisciplinary team and support K-12 students with speech/language delays or communications difficulties with bridging the gap between the curriculum and learning. An SLP's role in the BC education system focuses primarily on assessment, consultation and direct instruction to build capacity within the school-based team to support students individually.
