Teacher Info Session: How to Impress Recruiters at a Virtual Job Fair
How do you impress a recruiter on a video chat?
More and more BC school districts and independent schools are using virtual events to recruit new teachers. In just under two weeks, Make a Future, and ApplytoEducation's virtual teacher job fair is taking place online. There will be no physical employer booths, no fancy swag to collect, or employers shouting out for your attention. Instead, the job fair will be held entirely online, and your conversations will be held over video chat over a platform called Brazen. If this is unfamiliar territory for you, don't worry; interviewing for a job on video chat can be very efficient and work in your favour.
The etiquette at online job fairs is similar to in-person events.
To help you impress employers and make the most of the British Columbia Job Fair, join us on Wednesday, May 12, for an exclusive information session with Make a Future's Gurleen Bajwa. As someone who works directly with BC's school districts, Gurleen will share what he's learned about BC schools' hiring practices and what employers are looking for in teacher candidates.
He'll also share tips on how to create an effective online application on www.makeafuture.ca and what out-of-province teachers need to do to obtain a BC teaching certificate.
Even if you have no plans to attend the job fair, the information you'll gain from our expert speaker will help you improve your chances of getting an interview with BC's public school districts and independent schools.
