School Overview
Southridge is a co-ed, independent day school in South Surrey, BC with 680 students enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1995, our school’s vision is to be “a community where every spirit soars.”
Why teach at Southridge School?
At Southridge, we place equal importance on character development and academic learning. We believe that a strong character is just as important as a strong mind
Our goal is to give our students a first-rate education and help them develop the qualities of integrity, compassion, and confidence so that they can make a positive difference in the world. We offer a supportive environment in which students can discover, explore, and share their passions.
It’s our goal to help students develop their interests and gifts, and find their unique place in the world so that they can lead lives of meaning, purpose, and contribution. In addition to a challenging academic curriculum, we offer strong Arts, Athletic, Service, and Co-curricular programs, so that each child has the opportunity to explore their interests.
Our Mission, Vision and Values
Our mission is to develop well-rounded students with a deep sense of personal integrity who have the moral character, love of learning, and self-confidence to realize their full potential. Each student is encouraged and challenged to be someone who:

Our Unique Programs
We take a student-centred approach to teaching and learning by providing opportunities for authentic, experiential learning across our curriculum. Our programs and culture foster the development of leadership, character, and skills that enable our students to realize their full potential.
Our well-resourced facilities house their own libraries, gymnasiums, science labs, art studios, music room, computer lab and Great Hall. The Senior School houses a media arts lab, weight room, fitness studio and cafeteria. A stone circle and garden provide a contemplative opportunity for our students and faculty. Our campus includes three natural turf playing fields and one artificial turf field.
The Community
South Surrey is a suburban community within the City of Surrey, on the Semiahmoo peninsula. It is a booming area with lots of first-class housing and infrastructure development.

Our community is driven to make a difference and accomplish extraordinary things. Our school community is involved in various community-oriented initiatives that are truly making an impact in the lives of so many, i.e. Surrey Urban Mission lunch program; Project Backpack campaign for homeless youth, Christmas hampers for young mothers, international service trips, etc.
Our teachers’ passion and expertise drive inspiration and student learning in the four pillars of arts, athletics, academics, and service. Teachers understand their important roles as leaders, mentors, and role models, both in and outside of the classroom.
Our staff are experts in their fields and skillfully manage the administration of the school. All enjoy being part of a vibrant and diverse community of students, parents, teachers, and staff who have a shared purpose, care about each other and live by a set of common values (i.e. our guiding principles).
