OUR MISSION, VISION AND VALUES
Our mission is to collaboratively provide students with the tools and skills needed to become active participants in their own education and lives. Students are encouraged to become conscientious, compassionate, and confident social citizens with the knowledge to understand the world and the wisdom and courage to change it.
Our Values:
- It is paramount to instill in all people a sense of compassion, consideration, and responsibility to others and the environment;
- Collaborating with others creates endless opportunities for change and drives success, as more can be achieved together than any one person can achieve alone;
- Knowledge should be shared, questions and curiosity encouraged, and imagination celebrated;
- All people must learn to effectively and cooperatively solve problems and resolve disputes;
- People that have a sense of control over their own learning processes are more likely to be motivated to learn, and therefore more likely to learn successfully;
- Competition in the form of grades, percentage marks, and rankings is counterproductive and harmful to learning;
- Education is a community responsibility and takes collective and collaborative action between school, home, and community.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Cognizant that the world is in a state of constant change, the school places at the center of its philosophy the importance of arming students with the skills to succeed in later life. Diamond provides learning opportunities in a real-world context to cultivate a culture of resilient, informed, and independent learners who are well versed in creative, adaptive, and imaginative thinking.

THE COMMUNITY
Cloverdale is a town centre in the city of Surrey in the region of Metro Vancouver. It was founded as a small farm community in 1870 for its fertile land and temperate climate. Cloverdale eventually amalgamated into Surrey as one of its six town centres. Cloverdale has a small-town setting with farms and local conveniences while at the same time providing easy access to the City of Vancouver with all the benefits of a young global economic center.
LIFESTYLE AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
West Coast living offers plenty of outdoor recreation, including skiing, camping, hiking, fishing, and more. A two-hour ferry ride provides access to Vancouver Island, where there are even more options for outdoor living. Both Vancouver and Victoria, as well as many local areas, have thriving arts cultures and festivals throughout the year.
Situated near the US border, day-trips to Seattle are easy. Between Seattle and Vancouver, you can enjoy a variety of professional and world-class sports entertainment.
Vancouver is a large multicultural environment, with nearly 50% of its residents born outside of Canada. This means plenty of world cuisine and cultural events for the local explorer.
