Vancouver School District #39
School District 39 is a large, urban, multicultural school district located in one of the most livable cities in the world. We are committed to providing the highest quality of learning experiences to our 50,000 students so that they can reach their full potential.
Vancouver is home to Stanley Park, beautiful beaches and is close to many mountains, which afford excellent skiing and hiking. Our city's network of bike lanes connects our communities and allows residents to live a greener lifestyle. Fantastic arts and culture and a diverse culinary scene round out the experience.
The Vancouver School District is known for a variety of district programs such as French Immersion, International Baccalaureate, Mandarin Bilingual, and Montessori. We are proud of our alternate, early learning, career and community programs and provide a successful model of inclusion for students with special needs. The variety of programs in our district allows us to address the needs of every student. Also, we are working towards reaching the district's goal of developing the knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture in all of our students and increasing the graduation rate of aboriginal students.
The Vancouver School Board is currently hiring in all teaching disciplines; however, there is a focus on those difficult-to-fill positions, including French immersion, Technical Education, Special Education and Upper-Level Sciences.
Surrey School District #36
Surrey Schools is one of the geographically largest and fastest-growing cities in BC. As the City of Surrey's second-largest employer and the province's largest school district, Surrey Schools is brimming with opportunity.
The district's 11,000 teachers, administrators, professionals and support staff serve approximately 74,000 students in 126 schools. We strive to provide an engaging and satisfying work environment for all staff. We are successful, in part, by providing many opportunities for personal and professional growth, and by focusing on shared priorities, which revolve around student learning. All employees work tirelessly every day to ensure children are getting the best start they can, preparing them to be our leaders of tomorrow.
A tremendous organization-wide commitment to realizing the district's vision makes Surrey Schools an enviable place to work: "We prepare our learners to think creatively and critically, communicate skillfully, and demonstrate care for self and others." The pride felt in making a difference to children is immensely rewarding.
Surrey Schools has an on-going need for teachers because of the city's rapid growth. Our recruitment team is looking to attract and hire new teaching talent in all teaching disciplines. We do, however, have a particular need for teachers with specializations in French Immersion, Tech Ed, Special Education and Music.
Sea-to-Sky School District #48
The Sea-to-Sky School District winds through steep fjords of Howe Sound, past sheer rock faces, waterfalls, lakes, alpine forests, glaciers and the snow-capped Coast Mountains. We are honoured to be teaching within several culturally vibrant communities, from Furry Creek to D'Arcy, including the main centres of Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton, and on the traditional territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Úxwumixw, and St'át' yemc Nation.
Our school district serves 5,000 students where we create safe, purposeful, and powerful learning environments so that all students can think critically, create, collaborate, contribute, and learn. Delta School District #37
Delta is a 20-minute drive from Vancouver but has a small-town feel. Three distinct communities make up Delta: North Delta, Ladner, and Tsawwassen, separated only by the largest urban park in North America: Burns Bog. Home to six golf courses, parks and trails, and lots of beaches and shorelines to explore, Delta offers something for everyone. With some of the most affordable housing in Metro Vancouver, make Delta your new home.
The Delta School District's vision is to be a 'leading district for innovative teaching and learner success.' Our mission is 'to enable all learners to succeed and contribute their full potential to the future.' Everything we do goes through the lens of our mission and vision statements.
We foster an engaging, collaborative and innovative professional environment for our teachers so that they can help their students meet their full potential. This includes our collaborative professional inquiry cycle to guide professional learning and improve student learning. Each school has a Coordinator of Inquiry that supports professional learning and student learning as well and works to facilitate networking across the district. Our schools have built-in teacher collaboration time that allows and encourage school and district-wide collaboration. Our internationally recognized teacher mentorship program invites teams of mentors and protégés to collaborate and work together on developing their pedagogy.
We have a comprehensive technology program for our teachers with many hands-on technology workshops and laptops for all teachers working .30FTE or higher.
As we have focused on our mission and vision in which we believe all students will graduate with dignity, purpose and options, we are proud that the Delta School District regularly has graduation rates for all of our students that are at the top in the province.
Delta School District acknowledges that it is located on the traditional territory of the Tsawwassen and Musqueam First Nations and all of the Coast Salish Peoples who have been stewards of this land since time immemorial.
